About Lisbeth

Lisbeth Bitto is an Austrian dancer, choreographer and movement teacher, currently residing in Vienna. In 2004 she started autodidact dancing through breakdance and urban styles, before she got introduced to contemporary dance and Axis Syllabus in 2007, in which she has been certified as a teacher.

From 2009 – 2012 she worked for the company SILK – Dance, Art & Air and performed for various international choreographers (a.o. Christina Raubauer (A), Romy Kolb (A), Janice Parker (GBR), Silke Grabinger (A) and Volker Schmidt (G)). Most recently she has been on stage at the SBW-Festival (June 2017) in Vienna. Lisbeth has a deep interest in somatic and meditation practises and teaches a movement vocabulary that is based on the study of applied anatomy and biomechanics. She taught at a.o. Tanzquartier Vienna, Tanzhafenfestival/Linz, StudioHybrid/Brussels, Tanzfabrik/Berlin, LachdachPling/Munich, NomadicCollege/Puglia Italy, EarthDance/Manchester USA, Studio Naim/Tel Aviv and holds regular classes in Vienna.

Above and beyond this she is artistically and choreographically involved in socio-political projects and is currently the artistic manager of TheaterFlucht Österreich. The art and cultural association CorpoColectivo was cofounded in 2014 on her initiative.
